Open the WhatsApp app


Select the Chats icon at the bottom of the screen

Select a contact from your list or type the name of the person you want to message in the search bar

Tap the chat box at the bottom of the screen

Type your message

Add emojis, images videos or voice messages using the icons to the right of the chat box

Tap the arrow icon to send

 This will take you to the messages tab.

 Tap the icon of a notepad and pen on the top right-hand corner of your screen to compose a message.

Once you've chosen who you want to message, you can type your message into the message box.

 The messages you send will appear in a green box on the right-hand side of the screen and the messages you receive will appear in a grey box on the left-hand side of your screen.

You can also use WhatsApp to make voice calls and video calls.

 To make a voice call, go to the Calls tab, then tap or.

To start a video call, tap or. 

You can delete any contact on WhatsApp from the Chats screen.

 This will also delete the number from your phone's contact list. 

You can also delete any message to remove it from yourself or from everyone in the chat.

You can also use an image from your gallery. 


You might have trouble scanning the QR code if the lighting is poor you're using an unofficial scanner app or the QR code is damaged.

Enable Hide lock chats


Enter the secret code in the search bar to temporarily view hidden log chats 

To access locked chats, you can:

Swipe up on the Chats tab

Tap the Locked chats button 

You can also reveal these chats by slowly pulling down on your inbox and entering your password or biometric. 

You'll be prompted to set up your device authentication, such as your phone passcode, fingerprint, or Face ID, before locking a chat if you don't have it yet. 

The chat is hidden from the chat list and the notifications from this chat will also be hidden.
